Louie in the News Tribune

Saturday, December 29th, 2012

I heard through the grapevine that I got go a mention in the Tacoma News Tribune in their article about First Night Tacoma.

Basically it’s say’s that I’ll be at First Night Tacoma and that’s it…which is better than not mentioning me at all and it’s always fun to see your name in the newspaper!

I found the article online at: http://www.thenewstribune.com/2012/12/28/2416300/first-night-festivities-the-partys.html

If you don’t have plans for New Year’s Eve and are in the Tacoma area check out First Night it’s a lot of fun!

First Night Tacoma!

Wednesday, December 12th, 2012

On New Year’s Eve I’ll be performing again at First Night Tacoma!  I performed there last year (you can see pics here) at the historic Pantages Theater and that’s the same venue I’ll be at this  year.

If don’t know about First Night, many big cities have them and here’s a quick description of what they are about:

First Night is a North American artistic and cultural celebration on New Year’s Eve, taking place from afternoon until midnight. Some cities have all their events during the celebration outside, but some cities have events that are hosted indoors by organizations in the city, such as churches and theaters. Since it happens on New Year’s Eve, First Night celebrations are actually held on the last night of the old year. First Night celebrates a community’s local culture, often featuring music, dance, comedy, art, fireworks and, in some cities, ice sculptures and parades.

I’ve performed at different First Night events in different cities for probably the last 8 or 9 years and they are the  best!  They are a family friendly alcohol free arts festival.  As a performer I dislike doing my show at drinking new year’s events, they always end up as train wrecks…but not First Night!

You can see my schedule for First Night Tacoma at: http://www.firstnighttacoma.org/pantages-theater/#top

Come out and have a good time!

I’m on Fire!

Saturday, November 17th, 2012

Last night I performed the family night version of my Reading Is Magic show at a school in Tacoma.  The audience was great the magic show was awesome then right after I signed the last kids autograph the fire alarm went off.  It’s funny that all the kids knew exactly what to do…but the adults stood there like deer in the headlights.  I simply said “Everyone out” and everyone safely made it out of the gym.

I was finally cleared to go back in and pack the show back up.  It was an interesting ending to my show.  When I left the West Pierce Fire and Rescue guys were still trying to find whatever it was that set off the alarm!

Dave’s of Milton

Sunday, April 15th, 2012

Last night I performed at Dave’s of Milton as part of their comedy night. They do this every Saturday at 8pm.  Mary who runs Dave’s runs it right and is a great host, if you are in Milton you really should stop by for a bite to eat or a drink.

Last night I was opening for Todd Sawyer who is an amazing stand up comic and writer.  The last time I worked with Todd was probably 10 years ago when I first started performing in casinos, so I was very excited to work with him last night.  Next weekend (4/20 – 21) he’s performing at the Tacoma Comedy Club so you still have a chance to catch him: http://tacomacomedyclub.com/show.cfm?id=138527

Lately he’s been doing a lot of writing for the Huffington Post: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/todd-sawyer

Pantages Theater!

Tuesday, January 10th, 2012

A few weeks ago I got to work at the Pantages Theater in Tacoma!  This is a historic theater that was built in 1918 by Alexander Pantages (and Klondike Kate).   Pretty much every act playing Vaudeville on the Pantages Circuit would have performed there.  So acts like Bob Hope would have performed at “The Pan”.

Here’s Miss Ella (my daughter) and me at the Pantages:

We had a great time!

Thursday, September 22nd, 2011

One of the cool things about Google is that sometimes you can find things you weren’t expecting.  Every now and then I find pictures of me performing that I didn’t know about.  Here’s a bunch of pictures from a magic show I did at a library over the summer:

If you have any pictures of me performing feel free to use contact me and I’ll give you an email with a big inbox so that you can send them to me!

Come out and see Louie!

Thursday, August 4th, 2011

I just updated my calendar of public magic and variety shows, it currently goes all the way into November!  You can see where I”m performing at: http://louiefoxx.com/calendar.php

magic show calendar

Of course I perform a lot more shows than what’s on the calendar.  I only list the shows that the general public can attend…it doesn’t make sense to list private shows if you can’t go to them.   Also August is the last month you’ll be able to see me present my World of Magic show…so come out and have a good time!

I just scheduled two new shows for this summer.   While my schedule is very full it never hurts to give me a call to see if I happen to have a hole in my schedule…it worked out for two people.  Also if  you have a flexible schedule as to when you need a magic show then you should give me a call at 206-669-3928 and we can probably work something out!
