This weekend (9/21 – 9/22) I’ll be performing at Chadwick’s in Medford Oregon. I’ll be performing as part of their Comedy Nite shows.
I’ll be the opening act for Todd Sawyer who is an awesome stand up comic! This will be a great show. If you are in Medford come out and see the show, showtime is 8pm and this is a 21 and up venue.
This weekend I’m performing at the Pacific Northwest Juggling Convention in Corvallis, Oregon. In addition to performing in the Saturday night public show (6/30/12) I’ll be teaching a workshop on how to crack a bullwhip (date/time TBA).
This is a free juggling convention and the public show is also free to attend, but seating is on a first come first served basis. If you are in the Corvallis area come out and have a good time!
I’m home now from my Late May tour! My last stop was two nights in Medford, OR and those shows were a ton of fun! They were at the Rouge Regency Inn. I was working with stand up comedians Carl Lee, and Brett J in these shows. The shows were great and the crowds were fantastic!
While in Medford I managed to find (by accident) a little magic shop called Magic Magic Costume and Fun Shop. They have a counter full of tricks for magicians and a ton of costumes! During the tour I ran out of 260Q balloons for making balloon animals so I picked up a bag of those.
I also visited the Oregon Vortex in Gold Hill Oregon. This is a cool place filled with a ton of optical illusions. For $9.75 I got about a 45 minute guided tour filled with demonstrations. There are a ton of principles used by magicians here to create a lot of what happens…it’s very cool!
Now I’m back home and have a magic show this afternoon and one tomorrow morning, then I’m on vacation until after the Memorial Day!
Yesterday’s stop on my late May tour was in Vancouver, WA and Portland OR.
I performed three shows and had a great time all the audiences were fantastic…the only thing I didn’t like was the traffic in Portland. During these three shows I debuted my flea circus to a very positive response! I was amazed at how much people love watching the two little fleas do their tricks!
In an amazing coincidence yesterday I also got a call from a magician friend of mine (Steve Marshall) who lives in Japan. He also does a flea circus and we chatted about it and he gave me a lot of encouragement which was nice before trying out something new and different for me.
Here’s Steve doing his traditional flea circus:
My current fleas do tricks with thing I had laying around the house like a handkerchief or a block. Someday (when I have time) I hope to build them a proper performing arena like Steve’s!
Last week I was “on tour” performing my magic show in Eastern Washingon, Oregon, and Idaho. It was a fun trip, I did something like 20 shows in three days and I returned home exhausted! I was breaking in a couple of new magic tricks for my show and the trick is going well.
I’m staying close to home until January 2009 (except for a day trip to Portland).
