This is just a heads up, but I’m currently out of town (from 1/28/12 to 2/8/12) and won’t be returning any phone calls or emails I return. I”ll be returning everyone’s call in the order received, and I’m hoping I can get everyone’s call or email returned within two day of my return.
Be sure that if you are contacting me about a magic show that will take place on a specific date or time be sure to mention that in your voicemail or email!
I’ll write a blog post about my adventures when I get back and have a minute!
Recently I have added a new magic trick to the One Man Side Show that uses a large packing case. This isn’t in a lot of shows, because it takes up a lot of space. This packing case also was a huge pain to move around, until recently I the brilliant idea of putting wheels on it!
Now it’s a easy to move around and doesn’t kill my back!
Also technically the magic trick I do with this packing crate is considered a stage illusion not a magic trick…but I don’t take myself that seriously, it’s still a magic trick!

Word on the street is that Matt Baker will be trying to break a world record that night! This is a 21 and up show and will be a lot of fun. The Jewel Box has good drinks and great food. Show starts at 7pm and tickets are $8. For more info visit: https://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/206159
Well the snow has turned to rain and for the Louie Foxx One Man Side Show it’s back to our regularly scheduled program. For the that means today it’s one show in Everett this afternoon, then I head down to Salem, Oregon for a day to attend the Oregon Fair Association’s annual convention, then back to Seattle early sunday morning for an 11am show and an evening show at the Jewel Box Theater.
I did have me a bit of fun and worked on a new bullwhip trick in the snow:
Somehow I doubt the Snowball Bullwhip Target will make it into the One Man Side Show due to my lack of outdoor shows in the winter…but you never know!
This is a just a quick heads up to let you know that I will be out of town from 1/28/12 to 2/8/12.
What that means to you is that during that period I won’t be returning any phone calls or emails. All phone calls will be returned when I get back, however it make take a day or two to return everyone’s call or email. Please be patient, I’ll get back to everyone in the order your contact was received.
However you can avoid any delays in scheduling your magic show simply by calling me now! Don’t wait until the 27th to call me, pick up the phone and call me at 206-669-3928 and we can schedule your magic and variety show before I leave!
Well the snow that was predicted for Saturday and kept moving out a day finally hit the Seattle area! Today I had two magic shows scheduled and both have already cancelled due to the snow. We’ll be rescheduling when people are back to work when it thaws out!
If I was out performing today my show would probably include a trick that I published in the Linking Ring Magazine (The International Brotherhood of Magician’s magazine for members). The trick was titled Snowball Fight and in this trick that I invented a snow ball disappears, reappears, then becomes three snowballs and finally magically turning into a small snowman! If you are a member of the IBM you can look this up in the April 2011 issue.
Tomorrow night I’ll be in a show called the Fussy Cloud Puppet Slam. This is a show put on by puppeteers showcasing some of their work.
I won’t be doing any magic, however I’ll be in the show doing my Hand Shadow act and cutting a couple of silhouette portraits. This show isn’t for kids, from what I under stand it’s more grown up oriented puppetry. If you are free Saturday 1/14/12 come out and see a fun show!
A few weeks ago I got to work at the Pantages Theater in Tacoma! This is a historic theater that was built in 1918 by Alexander Pantages (and Klondike Kate). Pretty much every act playing Vaudeville on the Pantages Circuit would have performed there. So acts like Bob Hope would have performed at “The Pan”.
Here’s Miss Ella (my daughter) and me at the Pantages:
We were part of a monthly variety show called Weird and Awesome with Emmett Montgomery that takes place the first Sunday of the month at the Annex Theater. Here’s a little video of my daughter Miss Ella performing with me at the Annex Theater in Seattle:
This was my fourth time performing in that show and my daughter’s first time. She is now the youngest person at seven years old to perform on that stage!
