Right now I’m working on a new piece for the show in 2012.  I’m not saying much about it yet, however it uses apacking crate:

And it’s got a big surprise ending!  Keep an eye out for this new stage illusion in my One Man Side Show a bit later in 2012!

I know it’s not even January yet, but I just put up the demo video for my summer 2012 library show.  This show is called Dream it…Do it! and the show features all the skills that I either invented or dreamed about doing as a kid and eventually learned from books.

Today I got a fresh batch of Silhouette Portrait paper in the mail.

Silhouette Portrait Cutting

I was running low on it, I did a lot of silhouette portrait cutting during the holiday performing season.  If you don’t know what silhouette portrait cutting is watch the video below:

What makes this paper unique is that it’s matte black on one side and white on the other.  That allows me to cut portraits looking at the white side, but them mount them with the black side showing.

For most performers December is a busy month and for me it’s no exception!  I’m averaging 3 shows per day over the weekends at company holiday parties… addition to the shows I do on weekdays (school assemblies, etc).  There’s only one more weekend of this busy season then it slows down a bit.

I did just add one last minute public show.  First Night Tacoma just scheduled me to perform at their New Year’s Eve arts festival!

We’re still working on the details like show times, etc.  Once I know the details I’ll post them here.  This will be my first year at First Night Tacoma, I’ve done First  Night Spokane for many years and had a great time, so this should be a fun event!

Tonight (12/1/11) I’ll be performing at Laughs Comedy Spot in Kirkland WA as part of the annual ROBO show!  ROBO is a stand up comedy robot that I built and operate with stand up comedian Matthew Lauro.   In addition to ROBO I’ll be doing about 25 minutes of my One Man Side Show.  I haven’t figured out my exact set list, but I’m thinking I’ll be doing:

• Flea Circus
• Bubbles

And probably one or two other things that are new-ish in the show.   Also in the show will be Rick Kunkler and a couple of other special guests!
