On November 17th, Seattle magician Louie Foxx burst his own world record for Most Bounces of a Soap Bubble as part of Guinness World Record Day. The previous world record was 88 bounces and in front of about 300 kids and teachers at Peter G Schmidt Elementary in Tumwater, WA he bounced a bubble 107 times on his hand before it burst!
“Breaking the record that morning was a challenge due to the AC/ Heating system turning on right before I started my attempt!” Louie said after his successful attempt.
This world record attempt took place during his BAND Together For a Bully-Free School assembly that teaches kids anti-bullying techniques in a fun an memorable way.
November 17th, 2011 was also Guinness World Record Day, a day to celebrate all things superlative!
Tomorrow (11/17/11) I’ll be trying to break my Guinness World Record for the Most Bounces of a Soap Bubble. Currently the record is 88 bounces and I’m hoping to bounce a bubble on my hand at least 100 times!
That’s my goal to bring the record up to the triple digits. My two official attempts will take place tomorrow morning during 8:50 am and a 9:40 am school assemblies.
I’ll be sure to tweet how I did, if you don’t follow me on twitter I’m at: twitter.com/louiefoxx
Yesterday I presented two of my Reading Is Magic elementary school assemblies at an elementary school in Marysville and I debuted a new stunt in the show. It’s based on the old trick where you stick a spoon on your nose…but I do it a bit differently!
Here’s a video of its first performance:
Normally I would have music playing while I’m sticking the spoons to my arm, but my ipod decided to die during the show. The silver lining to my music not working is that you can hear the kids reaction to the spoons being stuck to my arm! I was worried that they wouldn’t think it was as cool as I thought it was, but they loved it!
Well Guinness World Record day is only about a week away and I’ve been practicing my bubble bouncing! I’m going to do two attempts to bounce a bubble on my hand more than 88 times to break the world record! I’m going to be doing this as part of my BAND Together for a Bully-Free School Assembly.

Tonight I’m in a show at Hale’s Palladium in Seattle called Drunk Puppet Nite put on by the Monkey Wrench Puppet Lab. They’re having me perform my Hand Shadow Puppet Act and ROBO the stand up comedy robot that I built with comedian Matty Lauro and we operate together.
This show also runs next weekend (Nov 10-12) and I’ll be in it all three shows next week.
Here’s the blurb about the show:
Drunk Puppet Nite is a celebration of all that is holy and unholy in puppetry. Once or twice a year (more or less) the mad geniuses of Monkey Wrench and their twisted friends pull out all the stops! This ain’t kid stuff! Some of the most creative and talented puppet artist in Seattle premier their shows here.
If you haven’t guessed this isn’t a family show, it’s an 18 and up event.
A few years ago I used to give away my Louie Foxx Magic Coins to kids after the show. I stopped doing that because of pricing, they became too expensive use as a give away.
Recently I had a opportunity to get a few more and I got 290 of them! These are the last of them for the foreseeable future!
While they are still too expensive to use as a give away, if you ask me for one after a show and if I have one on me it’s yours!
On Saturday 11/5 I’ll be performing in Redmond, WA at the Second Story Repertory Theater:
In this show with me is my good friend Eric Haines and my favorite act to watch Bill Robison. Bill’s one of my hero’s and while I’ve been in many shows with him I never get tired of watching his act!
Tonight I’m performing my One Man Side Show at the Tulalip Casino as part of their Comedy Show.
I’ve heard that they’ve recently changed the format for this show, it used to be three comedians and a band. From what I’ve heard the it’s now four comedians and no band. Tonight I have no idea who I’m working with, but they always book a solid show!
