One of the lesser known skills that I have is that I hand cut silhouette portraits. You may have seen these done where someone sits on a chair and they shine a light of them.  Then they tape a piece of paper to the wall, trace the shadow and cut out the silhouette.  I cut them a bit differently, I do my silhouette portraits by eye!  I simply look at the person sideways and cut out their profile.  The whole process takes about 2 minutes.  Here’s one that I did at a Tea Party yesterday:

At this particular event I went table to table at the tea party cutting the silhouette portraits.  Of course after I make your portrait you get to keep it!  This can be a very fun addition to any event, like a company picnic, festival or holiday party!

When I’m on the road travelling with my show and staying in hotels I started a little video series.  In this I create magic tricks or juggling stunts using only things found in my hotel room.  This is the 8th video in the series:

Yesterday was the 111th birthday of the Society of American Magicians!

In the past I was featured in its magazine M*U*M and that’s an accomplishment that I treasure!

Tomorrow night (5/11/13) I’ll be performing at Dave’s of Milton in Milton, WA.

I’m part of the comedy show that night and this is a 21 and up event.  This will be my 3rd or 4th time performing there and they always have the most awesome crowds!

Show time: 8pm

Tickets: $10

One of the questions I’m asked a lot is who is my favorite magician.  My favorite is a guy named Nicholas Night.  I saw his show when I was about 19 years old and I fell  in love with it!   It’s the kind of show I could watch 100 times…and thanks to youtube I can!
